Eros International plc acquires global distribution rights for ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’

Eros International plc announces that it has acquired the global distribution rights of Nikhil Advani’s forthcoming film, Salaam-E-Ishq (A Tribute To Love) and is planning the worldwide release in January 2007.
Salaam-E-Ishq is Advani’s second directorial venture after the hugely successful Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), which grossed over US$ 13 million. Advani’s earlier projects as Assistant Director include Kabhi Khushi Khabhi Gham (2001), which to date is one of the highest grossing Bollywood film internationally.
Eros launched its Indian cinema distribution arm earlier this year with the global release of 'Omkara', a powerful Indian adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello. The film received a positive response grossing more than $6.7 million globally at the box-office in the first week of release.

Salaam-E-Ishq stars a number of high profile Bollywood actors including Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Akshaye Khanna, Govinda and Sohail Khan.
The film was partly shot in the UK (London, Oxford). It is a story of six different couples from six different worlds who are thrown together as a result of their one common problem – love.
